As content marketing continues to evolve, we're finding ways to keep our content relevant and ranking. So, for 2024, why not go above and beyond and create better, unbeatable content?

1. Amazing expert content that meets or exceeds Google's EAT standards (expert, authoritative, trustworthy)

Content continues to amaze us on a regular basis. It can do SO MUCH for small and large brands alike.

Take advantage of the huge traffic potential derived from Google search (70.6% of ALL web traffic originates there, according to Backlinko/Sparktoro ).
Posting strategic content generates 67% more leads than NOT posting strategic content , says a HubSpot study .
Meanwhile, 71% of B2B buyers read blog content during their purchasing journeys (3-5 blogs are the norm).
If you’re on the receiving end of these statistics, ready and waiting with amazing content, the rewards are huge. More and more people know how well it works, so we’ll see more content from more brands in 2024.

The word to focus on, though, is “amazing.” Without that qualifier, it doesn’t stand a chance.

In 2024, it’s not just bad content that won’t cut it. Even mediocre pieces won’t be able to land, including “not bad” and “good enough” content that makes you half-shrug after reading the first paragraph.

To rank with Google and readers, your content has to go far beyond “not bad” and into “ outstanding ,” “ amazing , ” and “ amazing ” territory.

The only caveat? The bar for amazing content keeps rising. Digital marketers who have been making content forever know this, without a doubt, so they will up their game in response.

The result: content in 2024 will be better than ever, especially from the major players!

How can you keep up in 2024? The short list:

Meet Google’s definition of quality . Again and again, the search engine refers to helping users by being helpful and including the words users are searching for in your content.
Show that you’re an expert in your industry/topic area. Google highlights the importance of expertise, authority, and trustworthiness (EAT) in its Search Quality Evaluator Guidelines. Google itself called these guidelines a good indicator of how they define high-quality (and low-quality) content. That clue is from an article published in August 2019 on the Webmaster Central blog .
Create and publish amazing quality content consistently. Inconsistency in content is a recipe for disaster.
Failure to update your content regularly (whether that means editing older articles or pages or publishing new ones) and maintaining its quality standards will hurt your search visibility.

In short, content never goes out of style (Ever). A lot of great content will come from a greater knowledge and a better understanding of what it takes to rank your website in 2022.

2. Content optimized for voice search

Is anyone surprised that this is a trend in 2024? Me neither.
Voice search continues to grow, both in usage and popularity.

Naturally, with more people owning and using smart speakers, it follows that more will use voice search to ask their devices to find information.

What this means for SEO and content is pretty big.
