Has anyone ever said that email marketing and content marketing don't mix well? Maybe not, but just in case, a recent study by Ascend2 and Research Partners dispels any doubts.

The best of online activities for lead generation
In this study carried out in collaboration by these two brands, 7 tactics focused on lead generation within digital marketing are mentioned .

Within this list, email marketing and content marketing as strategies share an effectiveness weighting of 45% each . Of course, adding them together within a strategy provides us with the best dividends in terms of return on investment, or rather, in the generation of leads (opportunities).

Continuing with the rest of the positions, mailing and content it directors managers email lists marketing are followed by social media marketing in terms of effectiveness in generating leads, with a rating of 39% (out of 100%) of those surveyed.

From there the positions are as follows:

In fourth place, we have landing pages / web optimization (38%)
SEO (38%)
Online and search advertising (30%)
Webinars and virtual events (29%)

Effectiveness is not the same as difficulty…
However, it is important to note that just because respondents consider them effective online activities for lead generation does not mean they are easy to execute.

The same study also highlights the perception of respondents regarding the ease (or, proportionally, the difficulty) of executing each of these activities.

For example, content marketing , despite being considered along with mailing as one of the most effective activities, has a weighting of 47% for difficulty of execution according to those surveyed.

This contrasts greatly with mailing , since according to those surveyed, it is the easiest activity to execute compared to the other 6 (28%), being in itself the digital activity focused on lead generation that has the best relationship in terms of effort / cost VS investment.

Finally, if we detail the rest of the list , we will find that:

Social media marketing has a difficulty of execution rating of 44%.
For SEO , the weighting is 36%
Landing pages and web optimization have a weighting of 34%
Online search advertising has 33%
And finally, we have a 32% rating for webinars or virtual events.
