And it is not a matter of translation difficulties. The very need to switch to another operator while preserving the subscriber's phone number arose as soon as a competitive mobile operator appeared. And if in some Western countries the basic provisions of MNP were introduced at the end of the last century, then in our country the fight against mobile slavery took place with some delay. The first attempts to free people from attachment to operators were made at the highest level back in 2004.

Despite the negative forecasts from the guys from the “big three”, the MNP service turned out to be really popular. More than 10 million people have applied to change their operator, and more than 6 million have already used this service (you can see the exact figures on the TsNIIS website ). What is characteristic is that most of the “deserters” have defected to Tele2, probably due to their more flexible pricing policy. Of course, the implementation of MNP brought certain inconveniences and restructuring of business processes to mobile operators, for example, billing and call routing became more complicated.
