I am not specifically looking to make Instagram a source of traffic to my website. This is not data that I analyze. But know that it is quite possible to observe this statistic.
Using the Instagram “Stats” tab, I look at 3 numbers that are important to me:
The number of subscribers
And even more than the final number, I look at my subscription curve (i.e. when new people arrived and other people left) and who my subscribers are (their gender and location especially). I don't hesitate to sort through my subscribers to keep only people who match my target (aka who have real profiles and are entrepreneurs).
The scope of my publications
I analyze the number of unique times my posts have been viewed. To do this, I look at the "coverage" data and not the "impression" data which notes all the times a post has been viewed, even if it's by the same person. I also look at how people came across my posts. This way, I can improve my hashtag strategy if I want to reach more people this way.
Engagement and best post of the month
Finally, I look at each post one after the other. I look for the one that worked best by taking into account: the number of views, the number of comments, likes, saves and actions (visit to the profile or website). This last analysis helps me know the content that appeals the most to my audience to ensure that I continue to deliver this type of message or conversely, stop addressing certain topics if it is not relevant.
