Have you ever wondered “where do books come from?” or “how do people make books ?” – When our kids ask, it can take more than a day to explain how books end up in our favorite bookstores. As we try to explain each step, they ask another question. We explain, and the cycle continues. This article aims to guide you through making a DIY book from blank pages. We all try to make our own books from a young age, collecting our drawings, scribbles, notes, letters, etc. We give some to our parents, grandparents, friends, relatives, classmates, teachers, and other people around us. We used to love how we put our notes together, not realizing how messy it was until today.
Create a book
During the school year we have prepared book projects and compiled theses, and during art class we were asked to do one of theses: show our little ones how to make a book from scratch. Making your own book is a great way to give a personalized gift or preserve something you want to keep for a long time. Whatever it is, you can always provide a printed copy. Here are some guidelines for creating your own book from layout, printing and binding.
1. Content
Decide on the content of the book. It may be as follows:
Family Recipes
School documents
Art work
short story
Event organizer
Baby growth photos
thesis
doodles

2. Outline

You never know where it will land or how many families it will reach. Make the title easy to read and include eye-catching illustrations.

4. Paper
Before you print, decide on the type of paper you're going to use. Do a little research and you'll be surprised at the number of options to choose from. To narrow it down, decide whether you want a matte or glossy finish. Next is the thickness. Print shops may have a limited selection of paper, so it's best to check first. If you're doing this at home, of course, there are many bond and specialty papers available at bookstores.

5. Front cover
The front cover should be firmer and thicker. Do you want your cover to be soft or hard? You will need the basic materials: cardboard, pens, scissors, ruler, box cutter, cutting board, and paper clips.
Tip: If you want your book to look like a laminate, purchase frosted stickers from Home Depot and wrap yours for extra protection.

6. Binding
You have several ways to bind your book.
Do it at home:
Sewing (can be done in many styles or you can do it yourself)
Binding (for small books)
Spiral binding

Saddle stitching / Bookbinding

Perfect binding
Whether you are doing this at home or at school, it is important to have adult supervision. When doing this in front of your children, keep a good distance from sharp objects.
