STILEO , a fashion search engine with over 7 million visits per month in Italy, presents the latest edition of its annual report Year in Review , in which it analyses the behaviour of fashion users and anticipates the trends that will characterise 2024.
Among the results collected, the propensity for online accurate mobile phone number list purchases by more than half of the interviewees (56 % ) stands out , compared to the 9% who chose only physical stores.
The preference for e-commerce is driven, according to 48% of respondents, by the possibility of finding lower prices , and for 45% by having a wider range of brands and trends to choose from . Furthermore, 42 % of consumers appreciate that online shopping offers the possibility of comparing prices of the same item, so as to be able to choose the most convenient one, and 41% believe that it is a much faster way to make purchases than the traditional one in stores.
Another aspect that consumers appreciate about online shopping is that there is often the possibility of trying on items comfortably at home and then making a possible return of the products , an option chosen by 60% of Italians. It is also interesting to note that for 32% of those interviewed , e-commerce represents a good opportunity to have an overall view of the products and then purchase those they are interested in in the physical store .
The destination of Italians' spending
This survey also shows that the geopolitical events of recent years have profoundly affected Italians' spending. As for fashion purchases, more than a third (36%) said they allocate a budget of €50-100 to fashion shopping, while for 27% of those interviewed it is between €100 and €200. Not only that, 84% of Italians have perceived a general increase in prices, and for this reason 77% prefer to buy clothing and accessories only during sales.
Further data shows that more and more consumers (32%) are purchasing by selecting the option that allows them to pay later (using systems such as Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, Skippay, Scalapay), and 24% have shown interest in trying this service.
