We are going to close the company for a day to dedicate ourselves exclusively to getting certified in Hubspot and Inbound Marketing. We have called that day #TrainingDay. And the first day will be Friday, January 4, 2019.

The market is changing, and even more so job seekers database package consumer behavior. New technologies are introduced every day, where some thrive while others die. Therefore, that tactic that was your secret weapon last month could now be used by everyone else.

Does this sound familiar?

If so, as a professional, what do you do to keep up with changes and new information? There is a very obvious answer and it is by being consistent with training and being motivated to learn about the new trends that the market demands.

Unfortunately, finding time for training is a major challenge for marketing professionals, according to the latest State of Inbound Marketing in Latin America .

On the other hand, according to Malcolm Gladwell, sociologist and famous author of the book The Tipping Point , it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something. So training yourself to be the best will take time.

We are a product of what we learn
When we decided to start Impulse , the first hurdle to overcome was finding a resource that would teach us how to do Inbound Marketing . Fortunately, Hubspot has a learning center called Hubspot Academy , which, without sounding fanatical, is to date the most comprehensive and useful teaching platform on marketing, sales, and technology.

That's why one of our top priorities since we started was to instill in our team a culture of continuous learning - and standing out from the rest - is our secret weapon to achieving success in being good marketing and sales specialists.

In addition, we are looking for new ways to always keep training and we had no better idea than to organize an event, which we will call: #TrainingDay , and I think you could also implement it with your team.

New call to action

Here are 4 reasons why we will be holding #TrainingDay at Impulse:
1. Customers depend on our knowledge and ability
They hire us because our clients are looking for skills, knowledge, and advice outside of what they already have. They have an expectation that by hiring HubSpot’s top-rated agency , they will get a well-trained and disciplined team to help them achieve their goals.

2. Calculating the ROI of training is quite easy
Yes, it honestly is. But it's not calculated using math. Rather, it's considered this: Do you think learning a new skill for eight hours a quarter will help you generate more revenue? If the answer is yes, or even probably, then your ROI calculation is good enough and you need to start training.

The fact is that when I started Impulse, every training session helped us grow this company, because what we learned – quickly – we put into practice.

3. It places us as thought leaders
The Impulse brand is linked to Hubspot and the Inbound methodology. Hubspot relies on us to be a good partner that guarantees maximum benefit from the use of the methodology and its technology for our clients.

At the same time, as our team gains access to new knowledge that ensures we have the tools to deliver the best possible results, it exposes each of us who work at Impulse as experts in the market. An industry that every year demands more and better professionals who know how to combine marketing and technology.

4. Reinforce the Impulse culture
One of the behaviors we value most is being “genuinely involved .” When we say we care about our customers, it’s not just a cliché. We love our customers and we prove it every day by experimenting, co-creating, learning , and pushing ourselves to deliver real value in everything we do.

We hire people who love to learn, ask deep questions, and help us understand how things work. Introducing structured learning opportunities to a group of curious marketers creates a lot of energy and enthusiasm that strengthens our brand.

We will close the company for a day
Even though we are always learning at the office, reading a blog post in the morning, sharing learning sessions in a group, spending a few hours on an online course or even taking a weekend home with us to complete a certification program, we wanted to start this year by doing something different.

Training Day will be a quarterly event where we will shut down the company for a day so our team can focus 100 percent of their energy on training. We have set up a large whiteboard, where each team member will post their certification commitment, starting with the HubSpot Academy programs.

Additionally, we will start the day with a video-based stand-up, and everyone will declare their training goals on the main day. It will be magical to see people achieve certifications and share their achievements in our Slack chat.
